Invitation: How To Avoid Scams, According To The Experts
Last month, we gave the community a chance to hear from the experts about scams. The session was booked out, and due to popular demand we're bringing it back.
Hi friend,
Last month, when I invited an Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) expert into the community to help us learn how to avoid scams, over 200 of you attended the booked-out briefing.

We all have a friend or loved one who has fallen victim to a scam. As scammers become more sophisticated, we’re losing more money every year to a growing number of suspicious emails, texts and phone calls.
Last year, Australians lost a record $3.1 billion to scams.
When I hosted the booked-out session with a senior representative from the ACCC, a lot of you contacted my office asked to host a second one. Many asked if the session would be available in Mandarin.

I’ve invited the experts back to help you learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones from scammers.
This time, we’re hosting two sessions: one in English only, and another with a Mandarin translator.
A senior ACCC representative will run the two seminars, which will feature practical steps you can take to avoid losing your money and private information to scammers, and will be at hand to answer any questions you have.
